Hey! Yesterday was my cousin's wedding. It was a rather nice one and I was very excited as it has been a long time since I attended a wedding dinner, though she is not the first cousin to get married. Last Friday ( a day before her wedding) , we wnet to her house to eat dinner. We stayed until 10 pm before heading back home. As my father's car is a 7 seater one, so he sent my gu ma, grandma, niece, nephew and their parents too. Of course we can't transport all at one time, so my father sent my gu ma and grandma home first. The next day was the wedding and we reached my uncle's house at around 11 am. We went there early as the bride would need to serve tea to the elders. We waited for a rather long time before the bride returned home. My mother also told me that if one day when my nieces or nephews marry, they would also need to serve my sisters and I tea too! I felt it was very weird as my oldest niece is actually 13 years old which makes her older than me! My youngest nephew is about 2 years old. I love them so much especially Joey and Joel ( niece and nephew respectively). Also, my cousin, Ji Hao 'earned' $50 by opening the wedding car!( Openning a wedding car door is a chinese custom usally opened by a youngest boy in the bride's family) Ji Hao and his maother who arrived around 7 am plus, told me that when they allowed the groom to enter the house, he had to sign a so-called wedding contract. These are the followings: 1) I will not talk to any woman in my company. 2) I cannot give my contact number to any female colleague. 3) I will need to reach home at a fixed time. 4) I need to tell my wife where I am going. Of course there are some more but I am not going to continue. At Furama Hotel: We waited about 2 hours before they allowed us to enter the ballroom. As usual, Joey and Joel arrived, looking very freshed. Joel, kissed us when he saw us. My mum then said," Now you can kiss thes jie jies, next time you grow up better not be chee ko pek and anyhow kiss people." Finally, around 9pm the dinner started. My favourites were of course the shark's fin soup and the red groupa fish. My cousin of course was very pretty in her wedding gown as women are the prettiest on their wedding day. HAHA! I looked foward for this wedding since May, but now it is over. But never mind, next year December my another cousin is getting married too! But still, I am always looking foward to sitting at the red table ( the VIP one) Ok ending here. If you have anything to tag me, please keep them short, sweet and straight to the point. May peace be with you, Samantha Yeong
